Yeah - it was pretty sizeable, on a whole baguette about 10" long and completely filled. I've seen pictures of the avocado toast on Yelp and that's a pretty small portion

I'd love to try them, I'm a huge sucker for a good Banh Mi... but they need to stay open past 7pm. It seems like the worst possible time to close, late enough to catch the post-lunch lull, not late enough to grab a sandwich for dinner.

Best Pork Belly Banh Mi I've had this side of the planet. Try the Vietnamese cold coffee, too. Excellent, tastes almost like a shake, but loaded with caffeine.
Sandwiches are huge - if you're a light eater or just want a snack one order can satisfy two. And they have a loyalty program, too.

Hubby and I tried both their sandwich offerings at the JC Eats (or whatever it was called) in front of City Hall a few weeks ago. Delicious.

Does this make sense to anyone?
The name of the caf? refers to Asian rice ? which is twice as long as they are wide ? ------------------------------------- Short Grain, a quaint Jersey City coffee shop opens to much acclaim By Steven Rodas | For The Jersey Journal on August 05, 2015 at 9:44 AM, updated August 05, 2015 at 11:33 AM JERSEY CITY ? The proverb "good things come in small packages" rings especially true in the case of Short Grain. The new coffee shop is a small and charming addition to Downtown Jersey City with an Asian-inspired menu and seating area for fewer than 20 (not including outdoor seating). http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... _opens_to_much_accla.html

My wife and I love this place. Awesome sandwiches and sides and their Vietnamese Cold Brew is out of this world delicious. Hope they stick around for a long while and get the support they deserve. Their sandwiches remind me of Num Pang in Manhattan which we are obsessed with.

Fantastic banh mi. Try the coconut chicken and get it spicy. Great new addition to the area.

I've been three times and love the place. Ignore the complainers here who are whining about another coffee place-- why idiots who haven't even been have to hear themselves talk on these threads and offer zero helpful information is beyond me.
Coffee is very local and this place is much closer to me than the other new spots. Also it's the best in the area, bar none (better than Grove Kitchen too). I've had both hot and ice coffee here several times. I've tried three different sandwiches and they're all delicious. The kale salad is excellent too. Finally a place that is doing everything right.

It's a "cafe" which frankly is really the last kind of place that the neighborhood needs. I love good coffee but thankfully there is no shortage of it these days. This storefront on Montgomery would have been a perfect location for a bagel store but apparently nobody has the gusto to go up against the all mighty Wonder Bagels.

Walked by today and just noticed that it's open for business!!! I had no idea - I walk by that block many times a week and never noticed it!!!
Anyone tried it? Any reviews? Website: http://shortgrainjc.com/
