I spent 2 weeks sending emails to different people and texts to buy my desk..NOBODY responded but 2 ppl. 1 of them said it was available and said i could pick it up but when I asked where they lived they never responded. lol then the other lady sold me a GREAT chair for $5. I was happy that she responded.

I think that craigslist is the way to go. what are you selling? pm me. :)

I remember when I lived in Hoboken for a few years they had a great, local forum to sell items. I loved it. Being fresh out of college and needing items - there were so many transient business people needing to move fast that the quality of furniture vs. cost was great. But since I've moved here there hasn't been a great local website for this stuff. I posted on craigslist to sell some good sh*t and the people were responding from Pennsylvania and one never came to pick up the item etc.,. Conclusion is that it's a pain in the tush to try and sell good furniture items as a local to locals. If someone knows a great online method to do it - I have some cool sh*t I'd be happy to put up there.....

Im looking to buy some gently used items. Mainly an ikea type desk and/or perhaps some ikea table legs. Is there an alternative to craigslist and/or ebay? Thanks for your help! :)
