Hey, if the area is getting too nice for your taste, there's always Newark. I hear it's really up and coming these days.

Why would you care if you don't live downtown?

I'm still from JC and downtown still qualifies as JC, therefore it makes me unhappy to see what it is turning in to.

For the love of God, change the F'ing record. Turning into? The only thing it's turning into is a safer place.

Your posts are soo tired!!!

The area is relatively safe, minus the occasional smash and grab with the cars.

Thanks so much, I appreciate it! I'm not familiar with the area at all and only visited on a rainy, gross day, so getting good feedback on the area is helpful!

There's also a police station right around the corner from here on Erie St, so in summation, this is a very scary place!

Seriously. I don't know how much safer you could get around the Grove Street PATH.

Quote:
Grove and Bay? There's a vintage clothing store, a wine shop, a few restaurants, and like you said that parking garage. Do you really think the area looks unsafe. It's two blocks away from the path station!

No. It is a bit sparse there but it's not unsafe.

I live in 150 Bay Street! although the area seems a bit desolate and grungy I never had a problem. being a dog owner myself and many people in the building,it's really pretty safe. I will say, Marin Blvd is a very busy/hectic street. Trying to cross the street at Bay and Marin is almost impossible and dangerous - it seems people take the back way from the turnpike to get into the city and that route is Marin Blvd.

Overall the Powerhouse Arts District (PAD) is a great spot to explore, so many plans in the works for this neighborhood.

Hope this helps :)

We are thinking of moving to 150 Bay Street. I am a bit worried that the area seemed a bit desolate with many parking garages surrounding the building, but not much else. Would it be unsafe for me to walk my dog at night there or walk alone home from the Grove St. PATH stop at night?
