I go to either one depending on the mood I'm in. But if I want the best that I have had in that area, I go to the 2 Pitas in a Pod truck. It shows up in front of Duane Reade during the week. Their sandwiches are the best!

I have to agree about Ibby's. I feel like when i moved here 5 years ago the food was so much better there. I switched to Gypsy Grill for couple reasons. They have more options, they are closer to my apt, and Ibby's has been making me sick from the grease. They used to be so yummy now i just feel ill after i eat it.
Gypsy Grill is super yummy and i really hope they stay around. You get a lot of food for your money and they are really nice.

If, by calling it Wonder Bread, you mean the pita doesn't fall apart after two bites, yes it is indeed a wonder. Gypsy Grill is my go to place for felafel, and their tabouleh is so fresh.

Actually the guy told me the last time I was there, you won?t find this pita anywhere else.. Its an old Egyptian recipe. And he doesn?t like using a half a pita? And his pita hold everything well so that?s why he uses it.

Gypsy Grill's greatest attribute is that its sometimes open late. But the pita is basically wonder bread baked in a circular form.

I haven?t been to Ibbys ever since the Gypsy Grill opened up.. The service sucks and its over priced and the quality of food at Gypsy?s is much better.

You people are crazy. Ibbys is far superior to Gypsy Grill in every way.
Gypsy grill probably posted this account themselves. I've seen JCList open on their laptop in their restaurant. It'd take a lot of restraint not to post something now and then. Chime in, Gypsy Grill. I know you're reading this.

I must've walked past Gypsy Grill at least 2-dozen times on my way to Ibby's. Finally dropped in today, and Wow. Pleasant folks behind the counter, fast service, and one mighty tasty schwarma sandwich.
Ibby, you've made it quite clear that you don't want my business. Now I no longer have to burden you with it. Thanks for turning me onto the Grill, JClisters!

That really sucks. I've been less and less happy with the food there. They used to offer some good bang for your buck circa 2005 - now not so much.

I stopped going to Ibby's a long time ago. I never liked their service and it seemed like they'd only deliver to Hamilton Park if they felt like it. "Sorry, we don't deliver there." "But you did last week." "Sorry, we're not delivering there."
Gypsy Grill gets my business. The food, service, and service is all around better than Ibby's.

The title for this thread confused me when I originally saw it. At first I thought it was a plea for Ibby's to stay in J.C., and then I got my hopes up that they were leaving! Ibby's is just another mediocre establishment in J.C. that needs to move elsewhere. The Gypsy Grill runs circles around these guys, and I would prefer food truck eats over Ibby's any day of the week.

You stated you normally would not question this situation, why not ? When the cashier offered the drinks did you take any? And if it were $5 why did you get back $4 ? I would have gone to a cop and reported the theft of service. And is he really the owners son.

Ibby's - DO NOT GO!

Just got completely ripped of at Ibbys!!! We feel like such fools.
My boyfriend and I were having drinks at the Merchant, and decided we were in a Falafel-ish mood. Not feeling like making the trek over to Gypsy, we stopped by Ibby's. We ordered chicken gyro and spinach pie. Based on the posted prices on the wall, the total should have been $12-13, but were charged $17 and change. Normally, we wouldn't have questioned this, but the cashier asked us if we wanted any drinks, "on the house," and started laughing. My boyfriend asked him why he was laughing, and the cashier didn't respond. That raised a red flag for us. As we stepped outside, we then started thinking crictically about the odd situation, and realized that we were overcharged. We went back inside, and asked the cashier to recalcuate. He started laughing again. We asked for the manager--he said that the manager was not present, and he was the owner's son. Finally, after much back and forth, he admitted that he cheated us (straight out) and opened his register and gave us $4 back. What a joke!
