I don't know if anyone told the prospective developers that there is something like an underground stream running through the area.I almost bought a below grade condo in that same area but was turned off by the chronic flooding of the place and seemingly all the buildings surrounding it Check out how badly this area floods the next time we get a downpour. The prospect of underground parking seems ludicrous in this area. Also another choke point for downtown traffic.

It is the large vacant lot just in on third (north of Newark --334-336 third street ) and also the building on the north west corner of 3rd and Newark (340 3rd -- it was a daycare center) this all surrounds the red brick building (338 3rd -- not in the plans -- it was just re-done.)

It is all i know as of now.

Is the new building going onto the vacant lot that faces both Newark and Third?

Yeah where is this? There actually seems to be 2 vacant lots in that area.

Off topic anyone know what that building is that they recently rehabbed over the summer that splits newark and third?

And I would think that if the best endorsement of a tattoo parlour is that it is regulated by the department of health, that doesn't make for a great recommendation.

Here's a more local example:

The MET Grocery Store on West Side Avenue, that was shut down by the Department of health a few weeks ago. Wonder how long it had been selling unrefrigerated dairy products and meat covered in rodent feces before the shut down?

i hear taco bell is subject to board of health regulations, too. and look how well that turned out!

I would think that tainted produce at several locations would be a US Dept. of Agriculture issue.

What's that supposed to mean? I would hazard a guess that you've never been inside a tattoo shop. Both of the two regular tattooers are experienced talented professionals and the shop itself is subject to board of health regulations. Also, the shop is on 2nd street, dick.

From Grove to Brunswick on Newark Avenue there aren't really any major business'es. Not counting NHA TRANG, Metropolis, that bar I speak of, The weapons depot, and take your chance getting a JC Tattoo. Lets not forget the bank that changes companies every two months, the florists and BOA. Outside of that everything else is street vendorish at most.
