The packages I've "lost" over the years have been handled by either USPS or FedEx. I lost 1 package in 5 years from UPS. So far I've lost 2 this year, one each from USPS and FedEx.
A lot of those workers just leave the package without even ringing the doorbell.

Don't assume that your package was "stolen" (in the traditional sense) if it's not there. Saturday FedEx marked a package of mine as delivered. I was home all day, basically watching and listening for the delivery and generally in sight line of my front window, and a FedEx truck never even came down my street. Maybe FedEx misdelivered, maybe FedEx is in on the scam.

May it be a sign of gentrification that I read the topic as Downtown Jersey City Thieves Stealing from Porsches.

UPS have a lot more drop-off locations in JC. For example - Key Foods and Mastrolia Pharmacy downtown.

or get a box at Post Net on Grove Street. that has saved me a whole lot of hassle.

if you don't receive enough packages to warrant the expense, they'll accept them for about $3-$5, depending on size.

I don't know about the women with the shopping cart, but this isn't new. Fortunately all merchants have replaced items. Every single time a delivery person leaves a package unattended CALL the merchant AND the carrier to complain. Amazon delivery once left a shipment of electronics on my steps. Genius.

Please be AWARE: Downtown JC Residents

I live on 3rd and Jersey and 2 packages have been stolen from my UNDER my porch.

I spoke to UPS/USPS delivery men and they told me there are 2 women who have been walking around with a shopping cart and STEALING packages from residential properties !!!

So, protect your properties and if you see them, please take a photo of them and call the police ASAP !!!

The cops are aware and so are the residents around where I live.

Happy Holidays
