Thanks again everyone! I was able to place my order for NYE from 2nd street today. Good to know that they do these platters. Sounds like I placed my order just in time.

2nd Street Deli is delish

order early and doubt you'd get this for a New Years bash.

Whenever I have ordered sandwich trays, they have told me that all they need is prior day notice. On one occasion, I placed an order Friday afternoon for pickup the next day, and it was no problem at all.

Agreed, but not during New Years end as they do close early and often during holidays.

Blimpie Base #3 by far the best Blimpie we've been going here for decades and you can taste the difference. The Italian delis mentioned are terrific but for an actual sub Blimpie is the place. It's a homerun every time and no other can compare to it.

Second-ing 2nd street platters. Super affordable and delicious and they are totally cool with short notice- I've always ordered the day before and had no issue.

The Blimpie's on Central Ave. is probably one of the best remaining Blimpies and makes a good sub. (Forget about the one by Journal Sq.). If you want higher end, Andrea Salumeria on Central just won the "best hoagie/sub" in JC.

Not far is Hinze's Deli on Harrison Avenue in Harrison-they do catering, and their sandwiches are quite good and very well priced.

Not exactly a 6-foot presentation, but 2nd Avenue Bakery can prepare platters that consists of pre-sliced subs arranged in a round or square tray. I have ordered from them on many occasions for various parties and their food ALWAYS gets high remarks. They do sandwiches, stuffed breads, and other similar things. No website, but you can call them up, or stop by. Local, and family run, and always pleasant. Can't say enough good things about them. Added bonus: their prices are incredibly reasonable, almost too low, really.

Obviously, I meant 2nd Street Bakery. But, glad to see others have chimed in with their support/approval. And, remember, cash or check only, and (as bustjc pointed out) limited hours.

Thank you! We love 2nd street bakery and didn't realize they did party trays. I'll have to drop by and place an order (as if I needed an excuse to go in there).

The little sandwich shop on Grove Street is really good, I think it's like $30 a foot.
