Chef Dan Latham grew up in Upstate New York and studied cooking at the Culinary Institute of America. He and his wife, Kris, a seasoned pastry chef are the proud owners of Latham House, a handsome restaurant on Marin Boulevard tucked inside the heart of Grove Street?s transportation hub in downtown Jersey City.

We went back and had a fantastic dinner. I wish them success! I hope people on this board will go check it out.

Same experience here. Attentive staff, tasty brunch, and the food came out reasonably quick. None of your classic new restaurant kinks.

Tasty lunch, slow service, very nice though. Empty, like empty-empty.
Might stay alive if they lengthen the bar and get some drinks flowing to the id on the belt waterfront work crowd?

We went a few days ago and had a very good meal. Service was good too. We'll be back.

Went Friday. Thought it had been around longer, surprised it just opened. Lamb meatball pasta dish excellent. Service was excellent. Nice place.

We ate there last night. The lamb meatballs with pasta was delicious, as was the thai bouillabaisse. Excellent martini. Nice when a bartender gets a simple classic right.

Service was pleasant and seamless. We had a chat with one of the owners.

The menu looks awesome! Dishes seem a tad pricier than other local restaurants but I think it's worth giving it a try .

The previous place didn't fail because of its location...

Surprised to read it only opened last Thursday?! Went for dinner on a whim, and didn't notice any of the usual Just Opened Problems, with service or food. (Normally try to avoid new places til they work out the kinks.)

Everyone I was with enjoyed their dinner (Salmon, bouillabaisse, eggplant, HUGE salad) and the desserts were insane.

Expensive, not a place I'll stop in weekly, BUT worth it.

It's such a weird, hidden spot. I hope they overcome the location and succeed.

Has anyone heard anything about a new restaurant opening where The Kitchen @ Grove used to be? I think it's going to be called the Latham House.
