I've never tried it, but often wondered how it works. I'm sure they don't get the word out to the bus drivers and they're as confused as we are.

NJT is cross honoring PATH ticket holders via Bus and Rail
I often hear this when PATH service is suspended. How exactly does this work? Are they saying I can just get on a bus or train, flash my SmartLink card, and ride for "free"? I really don't trust this.

A lot of people in Downtown view the Path as an asset, but more and more it's starting to look like a liability. We need new ways of connecting Jersey City to Manhattan. Unfortunately building tunnels and bridges is too expensive so I know of a cheaper solutionn which is listed below.

I'm a big fan of public shaming and petitions. Maybe we need to start a petition on change.org to get the PA to increase service.
Hopefully some sort of negative publicity will help nudge them in the right direction?

The problem with the Port Authority, it's been a political patronage cesspool for decades. There is absolutely no accountability because the political leaders who appoint their cronies will not punish them.
I truly believe that Cuomo doesn't care because the system serves NJ and Christie doesn't care because he's a suburban Republican from West NJ.

I don't know what needs to be done but SOMETHING has to be done. It's only going to get worse, the trains are going to be more packed with more residents moving in and will go down a lot more frequently.
and I'm sure once the "Sandy repairs/signal stuff" is done for the WTC line at the end of the year (yeah right), they will start doing that on the weekends for 33rd line next year. That will be even worse than it is now on the weekend.

Dear DTJC
What can we do to organize to fix the path? This is completely unacceptable. I feel like we have no voice against the Port Authority. For years the service didn't have problems like this. But for the past 3 years its been worse than most other NY area lines. Can we convene a meeting? Can JC Gov help us?
