Interesting front patio potential given the large setback, decent-sized interior for whatever retail/service/shop would be coming in.

Being sited on a prominent corner that is directly across the street from a large school, a large residential/mixed-use building, and is footsteps to Hamilton Park, makes me think a lot of people would want to know...

The former dry cleaning store and its connected 1st floor of the adjacent townhouse is fully gutted. The shop is now an empty shell ready for renovation.

Anyone know what the plan is/who the future tenant is?

Here is a shot from last week, revealing the faded vintage dry cleaning sign. Further work has taken place since, and that sign was removed along with the dumpster...

I spoke to Gill, the owner, this morning. I stopped in to verify that he is closing his business. He said he is in fact closing shop and that this will be his last week. I didn't want to be rude and ask why he his closing. I was hoping he would offer the reason but he didn't. I asked him if he had plans to open up a new dry cleaning store someplace else and he said no.
That was pretty much all the info I got.

i cant believe this is true. hamilton square residents use this a lot(including me!!) has this been verified? a sign posting this?

Does anyone know why National Cleaners on the corner of Erie and Pavonia is closing? I heard that they were not renewing their lease, but I don't know if this was due to retirement or if there are some other forces at work trying to get them out of the neighborhood.
