Can anyone share any recent info about monthly parking garages or lots in downtown Jersey City?

Has anyone ever used the lot on 9th and Erie Street?

Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestions! It looks like I might be out of luck for August for parking at the Liberty State Park Park & Ride. I live on Grove St, so the Hamilton Park thing might be out too. I'll keep looking.

If you're a Hamilton Park resident you can park at the Newport Mall parking garage for $100 a month (you need to present a copy your lease or mortgage as evidence). Unfortunately I'm not sure how much it is if you're not a resident of HP. I park there and haven't had any issues.

Not sure who gave out wrong information over the phone, but overnight parking at the LSP Park and Ride is DEFINITELY allowed, and fully compliant with rules and regulations governing the site. I should know... I park my car there. And so do many friends/acquaintances. Like I said, it is safe, secure, and hassle free. And, for less than $60, you can not beat it.

But, like I said before, this being the 23rd of the month (24th in a few hours) you are not likely to find monthly passes for August. I have seen them run out of tickets in as little as two or three days.

My take on this is that that Section D, 1, would indicate that permit parking overnight is ok. But double check!

(d)

The certain parts of the park and ride described in this subsection are hereby designated and established as ?permit parking only? zones where parking is prohibited at all times unless a valid vehicle permit is displayed:

(1)

Permit parking only:

(A) Within the designated parking areas as indicated on the site plan, during all hours.

My comment was based upon seeing cars parked overnight, but your suggestion is prudent.

Yes, and it's incredibly well patrolled 24/7.

That's a great idea. Do they allow for overnight parking though? I need a spot where I can leave my car.

NJ Transit Park & Ride by Liberty State Park. Monthly fee: ~$57.
Being that it is already the 23rd of the month, they may already be out of monthly passes for August (they usually go on sale the 19th of the previous month, and sell out within three days) but at that price, it is hard to beat: cheap, and secure.

Does anyone have recommendations for monthly parking in Jersey City? It doesn't have to be close to the Path station; I'm OK with Heights or Greenville area too as long as it is cheap. I only need to keep my car there for a month or two while I'm trying to sell it off.
