I am glad the rules are being enforced!

I had no idea that you're not allowed to drink beer on your front stoop. It's private property and that's a weird law. On several occasions I have had 10-12 friends sitting with me on my stoop, all drinking beer ... I guess we got lucky that no cop came by?

Big Brother Fulop is watching out for us all.

Every single item outlined acknowledges a rule broken... the outcomes were warranted and this post is definitely contributing to the desired outcome...

Being out the for the little guy and holding everyone equally responsible to ordnance and law are two very different things.

The cop followed him home from the liquor store around the corner.... He cracked the beer as he sat down on his porch... The cop came up to him and gave him a ticket- this was this past Saturday...

Dog off leash? Deserved. Booted for not paying your fines? OK with that. Beer on your own porch? Stupid ordinance, can that really be true?

Nope. Lincoln Park at the closed-in football field while there was no game taking place...

Was your girlfriend at the Morris Canal park in Paulus Hook by any chance?

This is what I voted for, no buyers remorse here.

My girlfriend got a ticket for having a dog off the leash at Lincoln Park? How? The cop drove up onto the grass, essentially breaking the law himself. Was it wrong? Yes. The fine was $100 and she has to appear before a judge (i.e. lose a day's pay)...

A friend got a $56 ticket for having an open alcohol container in public... Where was he drinking his beer? On his porch in front of his owned house; a house in which he pays taxes to Jersey City, Hudson County and the State of New Jersey...

Another friend got booted for $126 in unpaid fines... Fee to remove the boot- $110. In other words, the fines basically equal the amount of the boot removal.

I understand that the city is broke but these excessive fees and fines does not seem to benefit anybody but the city's coffers. It's not making the quality of life any better and pissing off tax payers like me and my affected friends... But these incidents are not inclusive of a small portion of JC residents- it's widespread all over jersey city. Ridiculous!!!!!

I remember Fulop, a few years back, fought for the little guy so these types of ludacris and outrageous fee and fines were eliminated in JC. He chalked it up to essentially being a form of 'taxation'. What happened to that Steve Fulop?

All the while, I saw two men yesterday walking down Kennedy Blvd smoking crack while a woman was crossing with her two children... Where were the cops then???
