They are getting ready to repave the street. Part of that process is making the corners ADA compliant.

There have been a bunch of street closings in that area during the day. Seems like they're laying a lot of new piping

not sure if its the same thing, but in HP 8th and Mcwilliams, 9th streets and Jersey have been going through some pipeline replacements.

While I'm clearly not an expert on civil engineering, I'm really curious as to what was wrong with the two corners on this intersection that got completely torn up today. It also seems that the east side stretch where Villa Borinquen is at is also slated to get torn up (preliminary jackhammer holes already dug).
What's being done to it and what was wrong with it in the first place that required this to happen?
