Obviously this highlights that JCPA doesn't book cars with JCPD decals on the dash - JCPA should be booking all illegally parked cars and a formal letter from the Police should be sent to them to state they (cars with decals) were being used for an investigation.
As for disabled decals - Without a doctors certificate no disabled permit holders should be honored. JCPD should number all their permits that provide a doctors certificate for their use and book the rest (interstate permits should be honored)

So how do disability tags and the likes of SDI work? Do you qualify once and get it for life?

I guess you've never been to South Florida! Heavy competition there for the handicapped spots.

Tags are one thing, but I suspect a fair number of the reserved street spots are bogus too, or at least iffy. I had a healthy neighbor who lived with her mother and got one, ostensibly because on the rare occasions her mother left the house she shouldn't have to walk to the car or her daughter should have to go get the car and pull up.

As for fake official tags, those have always been in play. In NYC they had issued so many thousands no one knew the exact number and fakes were rampant. Good luck with calling out the real ones. I once called out the E district Captain on why they were always blocking 7th St with double parked cars in front of the precinct. He responded, with a straight face, that the cars weren't cops, likely they belonged to residents. Uh huh...

I was driving, or I would have. Actually, I tried with my cellphone, but the light changed.

I was really pissed because there was a couple standing behind the truck waiting to cross and I couldn't see them at all until I passed them.

my unscientific study and basic mathematics comes to the conclusion that 99% of hudson county residents are either handicapped, or members of law enforcement!

What makes you say they are fake? It is pretty common to see things like a white pickup truck with fire department plates parked on the striped lines outside the Lucky 7 bar, like I saw last night.

Why should they have to follow the rules?

Is it me or is there a growing number of these cars parked at fire hydrants, corners, etc. with those JCPD decals that say " official business"
In NYC they are cracking down on them since most are fake and people impersonating cops.

I wonder how JCPD feel about some charlatans around here impersonating them and parking wherever the heck they want.

I will definitely be reporting any I see and can confirm they aren't cops. The problem I fear is that some might be cop's family members taking advantage.....If I can't park at a corner or fire hydrant on my block why should others be able to?

has anyone else been seeing this?
