You're reading way too much into these crimes. This has nothing to do with resentment, it is Capitalism at its finest. There is a market for these cars and these guys are filling a need.

Similar MO and location as a previous attempt. Same group responsible?
Perhaps the JJ would get a little less PC and provide a little more detail on the perps.

It's not about inflation. These guys want quick money. They do not want to do hard work. The economy has not affected these criminals, it has affected the police departments. Hence you see the spike in crime.

Get used to this it can happen anytime anyplace. They are going to where the money is. They may not live in your neighborhood but they know where to go. I think with the economy in the basement and inflation at an all time high it is tougher to keep up with the Jones' Resentment is building and the thieves will resort to any means possible with no remorse. Until someone important gets clipped this list will get bigger and bigger.

If they get you by surprise don't resist people get killed attempting to flee or fight back. A bullet travels faster then a car does. In the last 10 months alone 2 people have been murdered in attempted carjackings, it is better to give up your car it is not worth your life. My dog might not rip the face off a carjacker. On the other hand it might. Dunno. Never been carjacked. Wouldn't like to test it....

WTF is going on in that neighborhood? 2 carjackings in the same night within 3 blocks of each other. On Saturday night, my neighbor's high school-age daughter had a few friendst. 4 boys walking home together at 10p and someone stepped out by the light rail and clubbed one of them with a 2x4. He didn't have the details, but the kid didn't get any bones broke and managed to catch the light rail home, sans his phone and wallet.
I also don't understand why someone would get out. Jam the pedal down and get out of there.

A masked carjacker robbed a 2012 Mercedes-Benz at gunpoint Monday night in Jersey City, police said.
But when the victim asked for his dog, which was in the front seat, the carjacker gave him his pooch, reports said. The vehicle's owner, a 50-year-old city resident, said he was in his vehicle at Pavonia Avenue and Washington Boulevard at 8:40 p.m. when a man wearing a ski mask approached the SUV wielding a handgun, reports said. The car robber barked "Get the (expletive) out of the car or I'll shoot you," the victim told cops. The victim said that when he opened his car door, the carjacker grabbed him and pushed him to the pavement, reports said. The victim then pleaded for robber not to shoot him and to let him have his dog, which was seated in the front seat. The carjacker then handed the man the dog, according to police reports. The carjacker drove away in the vehicle and the victim refused medical attention at the scene, reports said. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this incident should contact the Jersey City Detective Bureau at (201) 547-JAIL. http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... y_carjacker_lets_vic.html
