You can use a front end like crazedlist or better, searchtempest to search multiple craigslists (say all northeast) with a given search radius. As you'll have many more hits this way, need to be specific with keywords.

Sucks, best of luck.

I have homeowners insurance, have been going back and fourth with them all week. It's very possibly an inside job, I just have no clue who it could be. Police still have no suspects, my chances of recovery are looking slim at this point.

I insist that this was an inside job, that volume of stuff does not get stolen by chance. I bet the police suggest the same as me.

I'd think carefully over who knows about the place, including utility companies.

Robin.

Thanks so much guys, really appreciate all the help. I've canvassed the neighborhood a bit, but no one seems to have seen anything. Printed out a list with all the missing items and going to bring them to all the local pawn shops, hoping to have some luck there. Haven't noticed any cameras nearby, but I'll definitely keep an eye out. If anyone even has the slightest suspicion about someone moving any of these items, please contact me! Really desperate to get my gear back, this is stuff I've acquired over the past 10+ years. Thanks again for all of your concern.

In August/September there were a run of break-ins in this neighborhood. Fingerprints and dna were taken at a couple of the places but still haven't come back yet :( Mostly mac's. Keep following up with the police. Also check Jemma pawn on Newark Ave in JC. Hope you get your stuff back.

wow sorry to hear that.

How about walking around the area to see if there are any cameras. Maybe private property owners, city or light rail have them??? It had to be a truck to fit all of that stuff maybe the cameras (if any) picked it up .

Good luck

Not necessarily. Some years back I had a tenant that refused to use her alarm system (she was tech-phobic) and was too lazy to lock the gate on the parking lot.

Thieves backed a truck into the lot, pried the door into her place, and pretty emptied of all its contents save a mattress and box spring.

I doubt it was an 'inside job', just thieves who got to take their sweet time in robbing the place.

The current break-in I have gotten over the past year: The thieves ignore the alarm (it takes 20+ minutes for the police to get there) and only take files and laptops. Looks like the focus is on identity theft.

With that amount of stuff stolen it is most likely an inside job. Think through everyone who knows what you have there, and when you are there and away.

Robin.

Thanks! Printing out the list right now, along with the police report number to hand out to the local pawn shops. My building is right by the Liberty Park Light Rail stop.

Where did this happen? We don't need an exact address but cross streets would suffice. Often it is 1 or 2 people hitting an area again and again so if someone is caught in the future it could lead to recovery of your stuff. Also, contact any area pawn shops and places like Guitar Bar in Hoboken that buy used stuff.
