I second the drinks only at the Vu. The dinner my girlfriend and I had there was disappointing.
Actually, the Hyatt has a pretty good happy hour outside if I recall though.

Vu, but only go for drinks and maybe snacks. last meal i had there was a travesty for the price. sad, because i had a couple good meals there years ago.

Liberty House has a bar in the back area with couches and a fire pit, it's pretty nice. I don't know of any rooftop bars in the heights, but down the hill, into Hoboken, there's City Bistro...

The Vu bar is back a little bit, the restaurant has the best view.
Other considerations: http://www.csiderestaurant.com/ http://www.mar-jc.com/ Follow up question, are there any rooftop bars in the heights near the edge of the palisade cliffs?

not JC  but a great place, nice outside area.Waterside in North Bergen (it is just past the Weehawken ferry terminal and the Chart House) check out the view on their website (great music!).... www.watersiderestaurantandcatering.com PS - you can also see the great JC skyline from the restaurant. .

the Vu Lounge and Restaurant inside the Hyatt has the best view of NYC out of any place I have ever seen. Beats the W by a mile.

Hey everyone,
I'm wondering if there are any bars (maybe in Exchange Place or Pavonia areas) that have a great view of NYC? I was thinking that one of the high rise hotels could possibly have a bar on the top floor - but none of my friends seem to know. Any ideas?
