With the amount of crime in the Greenville/Lafayette section along with crime in any other section of Jersey City, we need Vigilantes and/or Mercenaries to root out and the criminals and eliminate them once and for all.

Looks like besides the police all of us citizens of Jersey City need to carry guns to ward off the criminals in Jersey City.
So Mayor Healy is crime still at a 30 year low. Your crime policy, is useless...if you even have one.

6 vs. 1 : I say he had a right to shoot all of them dead. I think I would've - you can definitely get killed with six guys pummeling you. The only equalizer would be if you were Bruce Lee, or an HK MP5.

Good thing the officer had his gun on him. The cop should have maimed his attackers. Too bad only one of these inner city thugs got off with just a grazing of the ear.

Jersey City off-duty cop bravely fought off six attackers, officials say
By Ken Thorbourne/The Jersey Journal May 09, 2010, 5:49PM A Jersey City off-duty police officer bravely fought off six male attackers after he was set upon near his Greenville house Friday night, officials said today. Detective Donnie McGhee was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center where he received 30 stitches to close a wound he suffered on his face after he was attacked at Neptune Avenue and Old Bergen Road at about 10:40 p.m., police said. No clear motive has been established for the assault. The officer, who was stomped, punched, and struck with objects -- possibly bottles or knives, according to reports -- managed to fire his service revolver during the assault, grazing the ear of Dymond Huggins, 18, of Sheffield Avenue, one of the attackers, police said. Two others were arrested and charged with aggravated assault -- Nikita Bell, 19, of Princeton Avenue, and a 14-year-old male juvenile of Neptune Avenue, police said. Huggins was treated and released from the hospital, police said. "Preliminary indications are that while being a victim of a vicious attack, Det. McGhee has no alternative but to discharge his firearm as he was in fear for his life," Police Chief Thomas Comey said in a statement. "Despite the arrests at the time, this is a very active investigation between the Police Department and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office as we try to track down the other individuals responsible," Comey added. Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said his office is automatically investigating the incident because the officer fired his weapon. "Preliminarily," the shooting appears to be justified, DeFazio said earlier today. "Clearly this was a large group on one person. The detective was by himself," DeFazio said. "I don't think it (the attack) was because he was an officer."
