What makes it funny is that the gender roles were reversed. He's better off catching a beating than something else if he didn't refuse their advances, especially if they happened to be all of the same gender.

Predatory trannies on the loose in The Heights!? This will give the dowdy drag queen on Franklin Street fits! CapnJon, are you privy to inside information? I live nearby, and will keep an eye open - and cell phone camera ready - for these two. I see this rivaling DT's pimp for spotting opportunities.

Resolve your inconsistencies NOW! Thanky.

What is inconsistent? What makes me mentioning that not every robbery of a drunken man is done by a drug addict inconsistent with immigrants being the target more often in these type of robberies?

Prove to me that a staggering Mexican is a more likely target than a drunk hipster.

It is common sense but ok.

The higher the Central American immigrant population a neighborhood has the more common it is. It is common in JC but even more common in cities like Union City, West New York, North Bergen and even the Bergen County suburb of Fairview. JC has a higher Caribbean Hispanic population then those places do but the Central American population has been growing over the last 10-15 years.

You're reading things into it that aren't there. I highly doubt that the two criminal chicks thought: Mexican immigrant, more likely to carry cash cause the "move your money" issue doesn't impact illegal immigrants. I think it's more likely that they spotted a staggering drunk guy and planned to run off with his wallet and score some drugs.

Possibly but the FACT remains immigrants are targeted more when it comes to robbing a drunk man on the streets for the reasons I stated. You would also be surprised most of the times when some one drunk is robbed it is more motivated by opportunity and not as much by drugs.

I do not know what is so hard to believe that a drunk immigrant was robbed. They are one of the biggest targets for robbery since they are more likely to carry cash and less likely to call the police. Hispanic immigrants from Central and South America are commonly robbed using the fake prostitute or sex offer routine also. To me it sounds like a very believable story.

We're supposed to believe the outlandish story of someone who was "highly intoxicated"? Not the most reliable testimony.

Apparently neither does the author of that article. It means choked or strangled. Not slapped in the face.

Jersey City man throttled, robbed after turning down sex

Friday, January 29, 2010

A drunk Jersey City man told police two women approached him in the Heights and asked if he wanted sex, but when he said no, they slapped and robbed him late Wednesday night, officials said.

Police responded to South Street and Webster Avenue just after midnight Thursday and met the 37-year-old Palisade Avenue man, who said he was walking east on South Street when his attackers approached, police said.

The man said that after he turned down their offer of sex, the women slapped him in the face and head before taking his wallet from his back pocket and running away south on Webster, police said. They escaped with $200 and the victim's Mexican ID card, authorities said.

The man, who was "highly intoxicated," told police he could not identify the women, police said, adding that the victim refused medical attention.
