This is really a shame, but I am not surprised. With all the scammers, idiots, and trash in this area, people are hesitant to stop because it might be a fugazi.
On the other hand, the dim bulbs known as the JCPD will still be just sitting in their cruisers and doing nothing. Some things never change, and these cops are a joke.

When the first 3 cars pass within inches of him to avoid him he tries to roll more into that lane probably hoping someone will stop to avoid running him over and maybe help...but then the drivers just go into oncoming traffic to go around him in the other lane. He is even writhing and holding up his hand trying to signal to them to stop. Seriously, what is wrong with people? I hope they catch the thugs and after the investigation concludes they release publically the names of all the drivers who drove around this dying man. Make it an "accidental leak" if you have to. If not...the video is out there, i am sure someone will enhance to get licence plates for these people.
Imagine being shot, knowing your dying, crawling to the street for help and watching people look at you and just drive by leaving you for dead. Below is from another newspaper. "The video shows several motorists, including a school bus, drive past the injured man after he stumbles to the center of Broadway, bleeding profusely from his abdomen. "I've seen this all the time and I don't know if people are scared, in a hurry or both, but it certainly wasn't a good day for humanity," Kelly said. "Time was very precious for this man laying on the ground."

It is disturbing how many people drove around a bleeding dying human being pleading for help in the road rather than stopping to help...it really makes it hard for me to not have a distaste for our society and the people in it after seeing that.

View Larger Map VIDEO CLUES SHOWN Cops hope they'll lead to attackers Friday, July 10, 2009 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER Jersey City police have released a security video of the attack on a man left in a coma after being shot on June 18 and they are hopeful the numerous clues revealed in the video will lead to arrests. The video shows the 43-year-old Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., resident pulling up to his workplace - 30 Minute Oil Change - at about 6:30 a.m., on Broadway near Routes 1&9. Another camera captured two people pulling up about 45 minutes earlier and when the victim arrives they rush the van. There is a brief struggle at the open driver-side door of the van before one of the men opens fire with a shotgun. "We are hopeful we can solve this crime and bring a little justice to him and his family," said Deputy Chief Peter Nalbach at a press conference yesterday. "He is a hard worker - worked 12, 14 hours a day - and he sends money home to his family in South America." The video shows the two suspects running away after the shooting and a closeup of their vehicle is captured before they drove away over the Pulaski Skyway. The victim is seen stumbling into the middle of the street where he collapsed, bleeding heavily. Seven cars and a school bus carrying workers drove around the man as he writhed on the pavement. None of them called 911, police said. Finally, a man working on his truck nearby went to the victim's side and called for help. "Of course what is most disturbing, besides the shooting, is that many of our residents drove by without giving any help," said Police Director Sam Jefferson. Major Case Unit Lt. Michael Kelly said he is hopeful that the images of the suspects, their car and the clothing they were wearing will lead to tips from the public. The victim was in a coma until three days ago, but doctors will not yet let investigators speak to him, police said. "He is a very lucky man to be alive," said Kelly, adding that the victim had about $1,000 with him at the time, and the money was not taken. The business owner, with the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, have posted a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those involved. The getaway vehicle is thought to be a 2005 to 2007, 4-door, red or burgundy Ford Focus sedan, model ZX4 SES. The shooter is described as being black or Hispanic, and standing 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, about 200 pounds with a stocky build. The 30- to 40-year-old man has short hair, was unshaven and wore a warm-up suit with a white stripe down the sleeve and pants leg. Police say there is a possibility the second suspect is a woman. That person is described as being 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 6, with a thin build and between 20 and 30 years old. The person wore light-colored pants and a hooded sweatshirt with a white decal on the left chest and a white decal, possibly of a bird, on the back.

This video sickens me.
The crime is horrible and the cars driving by and doing NOTHING is equally heinous.

That's crazy, maybe shooting in daylight increases accuracy?

It is crazy how many shootings this year didn't occur at night which is usually the norm in this city.

The problem ive always had was that there should be a camera on that skyway & the other 1&9 bridges so if the police are looking fopr a car that might of crossed there, they can get the plate info & have a chance of catching them.

JUMPED AND SHOT COMING TO WORK
Friday, June 19, 2009 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER A 43-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the stomach and arm with a shotgun as he arrived for work at a garage on Broadway in Jersey City yesterday in what officials said was a robbery attempt. The crime was captured on security video. Last night, Jersey City police released an artist rendering of the gunman who shot the Sleepy Hollow resident as he arrived at 30 Minute Oil Change, where he manages the garage. Police responding at 6:30 a.m. to the garage, located in an industrial area in the shadow of the Pulaski Skyway, found the victim on his back in the middle of the street, reports said. The victim told officers two men had robbed him, reports said. Bleeding from his arm and belly, the victim was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center where trauma doctors stabilized him before he was rushed into emergency surgery, officials said. Garage owner Elio Varona said yesterday afternoon the victim was still in surgery and police last night said he was still in critical condition. Varona said the security video that he turned over to police investigators shows the victim pulling up to the garage and two men running over to him before he had a chance to get out of his van. "The two guys rush the van and 30 seconds later they shot him," said Varona. "He gets out of the van and falls in the middle of the street. The guys get into a red car and drive away. I spoke to his wife and she is pretty much in shock." A 52-year-old Jersey City man who was working on his truck nearby said he heard shots and saw two men get into a red vehicle and drive away, reports said. Last night, Police Lt. Michael Kelly said investigators believe the car was a 4-door Ford Escort or Ford Fusion with New Jersey plates and it fled westbound over the Pulaski Skyway. Varona said the victim worked at his garage a few years and was his floor manager. "He is my best worker," Varona said. "If I had three like him, I'd never need to work." Anyone with information about shooting is asked to call the Jersey City Police Department tip line at (201) 547-JAIL.
