Re: 10th Annual Jersey City Ward Tour & Festival (w/ Bayonne/Hoboken option!)

Was a good time for the most part.

Volunteers were awesome, as were the crossing guards.

Only complaint was the attitudes of some of the cops. While most of them were very cool, there were a handful that were total d-bags and yelling at riders to form a line on the street in Lincoln Park. Problem is that there wasn't enough room for people to queue up.

Cop starts yelling at adults that he will shut the tour down.

Easy there, chief. This was a bike tour - not a perp walk.

I've been to the one in North Bergen. It's decent for brunch, but at night, whoa, what a demographic change. It turns ghetto very quickly.

A "customer" is an individual structure regardless if it's a single family home or a 400-unit building.

With that being said, it's more than a "few city blocks."

Not really. It's interesting that the poster criticizes one persons "neuroses" and yet doesn't see those of the restaurant owners. They have "rules"? Really? Like "no, we cannot substitute chicken for pork" on a taco? It's an effing taco and these are your customers. "No pregnant lady, you can't sit down till you've ordered food"? Please, we all see who the borderline psychotics are in this equation. You people can keep bowing to their "rules". I prefer a lot less douchiness and a little bit more respect if I am going to politely order food at your establishment. Nuff said.

+1

You'll always have the apologists who'll come up with any excuse in the book to defend the bad attitudes that were/are at the place (maybe it's changed, but I don't go in there anymore).

I used to order from Taqueria often when I lived in Liberty Harbor, but there were a few instances that made me stop spending my money at that restaurant.

I ordered one night and the guy teased my about my first name. I guess it was playful joshing, but still odd nevertheless.

The second instance was on a Friday night when I witnessed the gentleman behind the counter treat two customers very differently. One guy was in jeans and a hoodie and the other guy was in a suit and tie. The guy in the suit was talked to like he was lucky he was even getting service while the hoodie guy was semi-fawned upon.

I don't know if it was a personal beef with the suit guy, but to speak to someone like they are beneath you and then basically just throw the change/food on the counter is unacceptable.

My final visit to Taqueria had the bald guy once again make fun of my first name. This time he didn't have the little smirk on his face and he gave me the impression that I was interrupting his conversation with two of his buddies.

Maybe he remembers me. I was the guy who placed a fairly large order and then walked out. I'm sorry, but it's a food service industry. A little common courtesy goes a long way in my book.

I would doubt most of the users on here would affiliate themselves with Vega, but rather, they're too busy whining about bad dry cleaning, towing, and idolizing Fulop and the ground he walks on.

Mariano got 30 months. It should have been 30 years.

I hope he gets a pretty boyfriend/cellmate/whatever.

Stopped in with my girlfriend this afternoon and we fell in love with this place. These guys have an absolutely phenomenal selection of beers and the "make you own 6-pack" is a really nice touch.

The owner spoke with us for about 15 minutes and we wished him well on his new location. Very nice to see someone (other than a corrupt politician) open up an establishment with a fantastic selection of beers in the downtown-ish area.

We are still fiercely loyal to Central Ave liquors, but Buy Rite is a nice change of pace with the massive selection of micro brews. We will definitely be back!

When I was shopping for a new car last year, I asked the salesman at Hudson Toyota if the 3.5% applied to the vehicle instead of the standard 7%. He said no because it's considered a "big ticket item".

Maybe if it's an inexpensive vehicle the 3.5% might apply? Not positive on this one.

LOL! Thanks so much for the laugh! I needed that!

I see on the OP's profile that there is a direct link to Liberty Harbor, so this person has to be one of the sales degenerates. The stooges of lies, incompetence, and deceit.

Would you like to share with the class on how many people are actually moving OUT of the Zenith before their leases are up? Would you also like to share with the class the status on that dilapidated structure on Regent and Tidewater? Maybe the 4 million feral cats like living in that structure and you are keeping it up just for them?

Have you fixed the security cameras? Do they still "not record in inclement weather", or do they still fail "to rewind since they are real time cameras"?

Have you tried helping the Korean couple on the second floor whom you told the outdoor bar was actually "picnic tables for the residents"?

Please advertise this place for what it is. A bar with shitty construction apartments surrounding it and the worst property management team this side of the Chernobyl Luxor Arms.

Liberty Harbor is definitely not perfect, but I am not sure what you are talking about regarding the amenities. The pool opened, not for long but it did open. There is a theater room, and there is the internet cafe. (granted it is instant coffee) Either way, it is what it is. You have to know there is going to be construction if they are planning several more phases. Not sure why people are suprised about that. And as far as the noise, you live in a city. They pick up garbage everywhere. Your going to have traffic everywhere. How about some more substance on why the management is so bad. I am interested as a resident.

This is where a lot of people were/are mislead.

We (and a LOT of others) were told the following before moving in...

1. The back room (now the newest addition to the Zeppelin was going to be a theater and billiards room (never happened), but we were told until our space was completed, we could have free use of the Sutton amenities rooms. That was a lie.

2. Pool was always going to be at the Regent, thus having no bearing on whether or not we were going to move into the Zenith.

3. Construction and trash pickup is expected (we moved into another new construction building and do not mind the noise since it construction wraps up at 5PM and trash pickup is at 10PM).

4. The beer garden was going to be a fine dining restaurant and the outdoor area was going to be a common yard with grills and a volleyball court. My neighbor was told it was going to be a doctors office, my other neighbor was told it was going to be a small market (we all lived on the side facing the garden). Some neighbors facing the front were told it was going to be a casual restaurant with a small outdoor area for dining and drinks. See the stories not matching?

5. I could see how the beer trucks can become annoying since the delivery drivers literally threw full kegs out of the vehicles. Cripes, that is really loud, and repeat it 50-100 times a late afternoon/ evenings and it's just downright stupid for those that face(d) the north side of the building.

6. Where to begin with management? General questions took DAYS of waiting for a response. Repairs were half-assed (our windows had nickles shoved into the locks to keep them from sticking shut - now that's ghetto). The only one in Management who knows what she's doing is Michele. The rest? incompetent dolts. One of the lovely girls forgot we were moving in and left us sitting in the lobby for 90 minutes. No apologies, no nothing.

A resident had her car vandalized and security told her that the security cameras don't work in inclement weather, and yet another old gentleman said the security cameras don't rewind. WTF?! That is just laughable.

There are a lot more examples but I hope this gives you the gist of why a lot of people are pissed off with that neighborhood.

Does anyone know if you can rent a parking spot if you are not an owner? What about in the rental buildings? Does anyone have a parking space to rent? We are willing to pay a premium if we can get a nice space.

LH has three areas to park.

1. A garage underneath the Sutton condos
2. A garaqge underneath the Regent rental building
3. A gravel lot in the far northeast corner of the development

I'm not too sure about the garages, but I am almost certain that you can rent a spot in that gravel lot for 125/month. You have to stop in to speak with one of the concierges at the Sutton (10 Regent), to see how to secure those outdoor spots.

Did property management give you a window on the garage and pool? Good to hear the gym is open for you guys over there.

Reason I'm asking is because they are 9 months late on some of the promises that were made for the Zenith.

Designknob, could you not sense the sarcasm? Take note of the eye roll.

The racing cars and some people waking out of LH and totally disregarding/not wanting to get to the crosswalk is eventually going to lead to something unfortunate and possibly tragic.

I have personally contacted John D'Sousa's office MONTHS ago and was told by an employee that the developer needs to "take care of some issues" before the light is activated, so now I pester property management regarding this issue. Is that the response you wanted to hear, sweety? Your snarky responses are comical. Get some new material, douche.

Contact Grand Street Property Management (the non-English speaking goons that manage Liberty Harbor). The response they always give me is "we are working on getting the light turned on", and the city seems to care less about whether or not it's activated.

Some LH residents are just too lazy to walk it allllllll the way down to the Boys and Girls Club and cross there. We all know that is too far to walk for any able bodied person.

Just can't stay away

This summer is out of hand. I am just bewildered that Comey the chins and Healy think they have a grasp on crime in Jersey City.

I was out this morning and saw two younger guys about to beat the christ out of one another. This was approximately 8AM near the Pathmark. What is even more shameful was that there were two JC cops just looking at them while standing in the DD parking lot. Fellas, go over and diffuse the situation, run them for warrants and either send them on their separate ways or take them in. Instead of doing that, the cops just got back in their car and leisurely drove off.

My belief is that if these thugs and other trash of society feel they can get away with bad behavior and petty crimes, then the bigger, more serious crimes will be easy to accomplish.
