As I mentioned in another thread, for any issues regarding trash pickup please send email to Oren Dabney (o.dabney@jciaonline.org) and Crystal Fonseca (his assistant, c.fonseca@jciaonline.org) at the JCIA, and also copy Steven Fulop, he also follows up on these requests. Remember to include pictures whenever possible. Thanks.

I'm on 1st/Colgate and they took all my trash. They put my cans back next to the building, which was an incredibly pleasant surprise.

Wouldn't have expected that.

they just completely ignored entire trash cans that obviously were just trash bags.

I'll call thank you.

By 7am normally all trash and recyclables are gone

If you call the JCIA they will send someone over to pick it up. I have had to do this several times. There was probably too much mixing of recyclables and garbage.

Did anyone one aside from 1st Street have an issue with their garbage collection on 1/26/09? I saw all the way from Colgate to Erie, half taken garbage. At my apt building, they took two cans not four and none of the cardboard. I don't think they took any of the cardboard on our block.

I have never seen this before. Does anyone know what is up?

The folks who pick up the garbage are not the same trucks that pick up recyclables as cardboard is paper so maybe that's why your garbage got picked up but none of your cardboard. They must be separated.

When I've had garbage collection problems downtown, I emailed Steve Fulop and he emailed someone named Crystal Fonseca at c.fonseca@jciaonline.org who got it taken care of right away.
