My pleasure of sharing the pictures with you all. I just hope the photo album gets its way, somehow, to the Bolivian Day parade organizers and participants, so that they also get to keep a good souvenir from their great participation in this annual event.

Mao, please keep us posted on any updates regarding the Master's swimming program at Pershing Field. There are people certainly interested in the initiative, particularly after the abrupt closing of the Master's swimming program at Stevens in Hoboken.

Highly recommend the pumpkin pancakes at the Light Horse Tavern in Paulus Hook area. Actually, their whole Brunch menu is pretty appetizing, don't miss it!

Can someone recommend an electrician in downtown JC area? Looking for someone to help us fix our building intercom, among few other things. Thanks in advance for any leads in this regard.

After several mishaps with trying to take this ramp off Merseles Street, we have decided to just assume the ramp is closed pretty much all the time. Sowe just take 78 from 14th Street, like we are coming out from the Holland tunnel. Safe bet!!

Here are some pictures I took at Ahris Kitchen when we stopped by earlier in April during the soft opening (for Kickstarter donors). Great food, you should definitely try this place out.

I've been to Shanghai Best twice for their soup dumplings, which I find delicious. The food is fairly good and certainly approved by my Shanghainese friends at work! I have yet to try the dim-sum on weekends, but if I were you I would give it a try and then post your impressions in JCList.

Re: Lunch Recommendations in Journal Square

Just can't stay away

Hi AlexC, last time I had lunch at the culinary Cafe in Journal Square was about 3 years ago. if you check the link of the article I included in my post, it mentions that they only offer the buffet breakfast and lunch on Tuesdays (once a week):

"The Culinary Cafe is open Tuesdays only. Breakfast, which runs about $2 to $3 depending on your selection, is served from 8 to 10 a.m., and the buffet lunch, $12, is served from noon to 1:30 p.m. An excellent place for an networking and/or business lunch."

Looks like the online chat with the school was not of any help. If you happen to be in the area on a Tuesday during lunch time, just stop by and check out the place and the food. The buffet lounge is on the ground floor of the building.

You may also want to try the lunch buffet served at the Culinary Cafe at Hudson County Community College in Journal Square. I went there few times and the food was very good and plentiful, nice location and great deal.

You may want to check with Danilo Baez at his repair shop in downtown Jersey City:

Danilo TV Repair Shop
272 Newark Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07302
(201) 963-0778

He fixes several kinds of electric appliances besides TVs. Give him a call and inquire about microwave repairs, he might be able to help you.

Hi Denised,

Have you checked the restaurants in downtown area such as Batello (in Newport), Liberty House or Maritime Parc (in Liberty State Park)? These are very nice venues for weddings, which also provide great views and convenient parking.

I would encourage people who enjoy Indian food to go and try this place out. We had dinner at Blue Lotus couple of weeks ago and really liked their food, portion sizes and courteous service. If budget is your main concern you are better off going to Little India in Journal Square, but quite frankly we did not find this place "overpriced". It is just so conveniently located near home! I think this place is a great addition to the neighborhood.

Just submit a ticket through the JC RRC Fix It mobile app or through the Online Help Center:

http://mygovhelp.com/JERSEYCITYNJ/_cs ... CEALNAAHTZCJZRGNEJMPWUHMR

In either case you can submit a picture along with your ticket. I've done this multiple times and they will usually send a small truck to pick up the uncollected trash on the same day.

Well, I personally don't find it "odd"... I actually hope this camera is indeed used for some surveillance purpose and it is just not a fake one (mind you, the fake ones look very real!).

And if you feel it is "odd" you may way want to ask the Brits what they think about the abundance of surveillance cameras in their country:

One surveillance camera for every 11 people in Britain, says CCTV survey
