Manila is one of the ugliest stretches in all of downtown JC, so if you care what they think about JC aesthetically, have them walk up Newark Ave, up Erie Street, and turn right on 7th.

Speaking of ugly and Manila, am I the only one who thinks the seller was sniffing glue when they priced this home?

They probably heard about the Aussies/Dixon Mgmt. paying top dollar and are trying to get in on the action.

The OP must not think much of JC either cause they posted it in Crime and Safety. Am I the only one who noticed that?

Second, use some common sense. Meet them at the Path and take them around....or provide them with directions....there are hundreds of map sites. Sheesh!

so it looks like we're on the same block so why not have them get off at newport instead of grove st?

You can meet them at the path and take them around the newport waterfront for a detour or make them walk through the mall then bring them to hamilton park. at least it'll show them how close everything is to where you live. then you can walk towards newark ave, VPP, liberty harbor etc to get something to eat and then when they leave they can just get on the grove st path...

Tell them to take a cab to the Hamilton Inn and then meet them there. Then walk them through Hamilton Park (Pray there are no gangstas playing BB), then past the new businesses on McWilliams and then past Basic and then to your home. Erie from Grove St is a little so-so like Greenpoint. Newark is okay but still has way too many crap stores and looks like Astoria. Jersey Ave is okay as far as showing off the Victorian buildings. VVP is nice but they would have to walk past the Section 8 housing (Think Dustin Hoffman's neighborhood in Marathon Man) and not as fantastic as Hamilton Park.

What kind of directions do I give them so they have a pleasant walk to my house on 7th from Grove Street PATH station (I live on 7th between Erie & Manila)? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

First, are they taking the PATH anytime from 8-10AM or 5-6:30PM? if so, tell them to take the ferry and pick them up via car - be sure to take the scenic route through the best places in JC - paulus hook, newport, exchange place, downtown up to Jersey Ave. Heck - drive them through Hoboken and tell them it's JC if you want to impress them.

Tell them to take the PATH to J.sq. Tell them to go down Newark ave, make a left on tonnelle, then another left on the Blvd, get back on the train and head back over the Hudson.

But seriously tell them to pass through VVP for a bit before heading to your house.VVP is a great neighborhood to see.
