Whenever I call the JCPA and ask if the parking regulations are suspended, the person answering the phone there always says that the officers will not be enforcing the parking regulations. Then I always ask, "That means the parking regulations are suspended, correct?" To which I get the same reply of, the officers are not enforcing the regulations.

I've yet to hear of someone getting a parking ticket on one of the federal holidays, but this sure sounds like a JCPA loophole to me. It sounds to me that either they are in really are in effect and it's an officer's discretion type of thing or the person that answers their phone hasn't a clue of how to properly answer the question.

I'm not throwing this out there for arguments sake, I'm throwing this out there to see if anyone else has gotten a similar response.

Street Cleaning / Parking Regulations Suspended 10/11

Is there street cleaning when JC government is closed or on federal holidays?

Whaaa? When did they start cleaning the streets here?

I don't know where YOU live but street cleaning was here last week, yesterday and today. Why would they care if it was a Jewish holiday - unless it is Christmas I'd move your car!

When I first moved here 6 1/2 years ago, I call the JCPA before one of the Jewish holidays to ask if street sweeping would be suspended. I got a snort and a "why would we do that?" response.

it's suspended for a jewish holiday today (friday) and yesterday. Same as last week for a different jewish holiday.

Why wouldn't there be street cleaning tomorrow???

Does JC follow the same street cleaning suspensions as NYC? don't feel like moving my car tonight...

BUT last week I forgot to move it and I didn't get a ticket. NYC had alternate side suspension that same day. Was I just lucky?
