The PATH is crowded, no doubt, but it's not anywhere near as bad as what the NYC is going through right now. People need to leave their bubbles and get a reality check. For the most part, the PATH still runs on schedule. I just wish they'd drop the stupid Hoboken layover on the weekends though. Does anyone know if these buildings are getting an abatement? Even if they are, an abated building is still better than a parking lot.

people complaining about PATH crowding need to do a reality check. the city doesn't really care as long as it developes...and the PATH is never really that crowded compared to other major cities. we're not in kansas anymore!

The city will point the finger to the PA. If we are lucky enough to get a reaction, the PA will throw up their arms and state they are busy with the PTC project, and the Sandy remediation, as well as the signal upgrade projects, so capacity improvements will have to wait until then. The PATH can handle the additional load, if people also do their part and commute a bit earlier or later. In terms of population, Jersey City is actually about the same size today as 50 years ago. And much smaller than it was 80 years ago, and somehow all those people commuted by PATH, into the waterfront factories in JC, and the many other jobs in NYC. The PATH will be fine, particularly once the signal project is completed, and especially if the train platforms do get the 10-car elongation project.

These building will bring in an additional 1,189 rental units.... maybe one person per or two people per unit. That number plus the existing monster white building plus the other building coming on line, plus all the building coming on line in Harrison.
Makes the PATH ever so crowded and way beyond capacity. Makes for a very not well thought out city plan

I'm optimistic that this project will green light through to completion - the area needs revitalization and it starts, I believe, with bringing residents - the cashflow will then warrant new restaurants, school improvement, etc.

Yeah, that was a pretty obnoxious headline. Let's hope the economy stays as hot and vibrant as it is currently; this is the type of project that tends to get stalled when things go south. Also, it shouldn't take long before the likes of Yvonne start ranting and raving about the replacing of parking lots with new development. :/
