Sadly, the environmental loonies won't let us build any new nuclear plants-even the French get almost half their electricity this way. Instead we're getting wind farms that kill birds, and solar plants that are destroying the desert floor where they are mounted.

People use to think cars would never replace horses and the cell phone infrastructure was too expensive for general public usage !

Yeah, it would be far more convincing if we already had cheap dependable solar roof tiles (that no one needed to drive on) and had already covered the entirety of our vast acreage of residential and industrial roof with them. As is, the payback of rooftop solar is pretty marginal as far as I'm concerned.

And if we had roads that didn't freeze and crumble. Just the idea of cost effective modular roadway surfacing seems great but a long way from reality.

That is actually an incredibly silly and expensive idea. I'll post reasons why solar in a road just isn't a good idea.
