Trying to make a point on the workload of the city cops compared to these other special law enforcement organisations. And yes, 9 times out of 10 it is bullcrap that people call in. This is Jersey CITY, not suburbia, grow thicker skin, or move to suburbia.

such nonsense.

Are you trying to say all those items you listed should be completely ignored? Why even have the ordinance then? Quality of life crime prevention goes a long way to preventing all levels of crime.

First of all these were not "county cops" the county police was disbanded over 10 years ago. Second of all these arrests were made by the county prosecutors office, therefore they were prosecutors investigators, not cops. Third these arrests were probably the first ones they have made in months, prosecutors investigators do not answer calls for service, and they do not actively patrol. Also the arrests they make are ones they investigate themselves, they basically cherry pick the arrests they make. And fourth they do not have the kind of workload that the city cops have, as i said they do not answer calls about dogs crapping on someones sidewalk or one neighbor complaining about another neighbors loud music or someone parked off the corner in a no parking zone, or "strange individuals" lurking in the neighborhood or some other such nonsense.

Well done County cops - I hope this ass-holes don't make bail.
Maybe we could send these County cops to patrol in JC after 1am, when people get so called shot just for the hell of it. They could also teach our JC cops how to make an arrest with more frequency.

Cops: Grabbed 2 Bayonne men in kilo-plus coke deal

Tuesday, June 12, 2007
By MICHAELANGELO CONTE
JOURNAL STAFF WRITER

County narco cops seized more than a kilo of suspected cocaine and arrested two Bayonne men when they converged on an alleged drug deal in Jersey City's Western Slope Wednesday, officials said.

Mohamed Farid Elshafie, 20, of Avenue E, and Yossif Kamal Hafez, 25, of West 34th Street, both in Bayonne, were charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, and conspiracy, officials said.

"The allegation indicates that these two codefendants were involved in the wholesale distribution of cocaine," said Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio, whose office's Narcotics Task Force made the arrests.

A tip led to a month of surveillance on the pair and the officers were watching as Elshafie and Hafez made an alleged drug deal at Thorne Street and Columbia Avenue, DeFazio said.

Detectives quickly closed on them and seized the more than 21/2 pounds of suspected cocaine with a street value of more than $150,000, DeFazio said.

A Central Judicial Processing judge set their bails at $200,000, and the money will be accepted only after a hearing to ensure it is not from an illicit source, DeFazio said.
