I'm not an attorney, but perhaps a) their insurance carrier wants to limit exposure and/or b) sometimes those accomodations can become a permanent easement over time and they want to prevent that.

That gate was always there. I believe, when the end of the waterfront path was inaccessible due to construction for a few years, that Mandalay opened that gate as a courtesy. It is private property and years ago was not available for public access.

There is no reason to go through Mandalay's property to access the boardwalk - there is a public walkway between Crystal Point and Mandalay.

I'm just curious as to why the Mandalay building put up a gate between the boardwalk and themselves? It blocks access ton2nd street. Not a problem for me but I can see how some peoples commute will be effected. Anyone know what caused the change?
