KellyH
So sorry to make a mistake in "latrines", as I did mean latrine. Singular. Your comment of don't listen to this "asshole" is totally inappropriate but so common on jclist. Say something and get reamed a new one behind hidden names. Just an FYI -I've been going to Terry's for over 18 years. I've been in the kitchen, the basement (his bedroom) and the sleezy bar. I've seen his hairbrush atop the grill and I've seen the latrine look worse then the ones in Port Authority. I don't frequent the dive anymore because I know after Hurricane Sandy the place was probably never cleaned. Years ago he had a nice barmaid, name escapes me but she cleaned the latrine. She said if she didn't do it he would never care. I know that I frequented the place very often when she worked there. So KellyH know-it-all, this Asshole knows his shit - the place is a dive, he doesn't care so take your chances eating or drinking there. I didn't say he wasn't a nice guy what I said was he was not Mr. Clean and the place is beyond gross. You obviously stop in rarely - or you would know the difference - get your facts straight before you call someone an asshole....asshole !

You also might try contacting St. Matthew's on Wayne st. and see if the kitchen in the basement of the Barrow mansion is available.

The kitchen at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Five Corners is a commercial kitchen, and they rent it to small businesses and startups at a reasonable price (I believe it's about $25 an hour). They don't have a stand mixer right now, but the facilities include a double convection oven, large fridge, double sinks, commercial dishwasher, etc. They can tell you more if you give them a call.

Try contacting the Hudson County Community College culinary school. They have large kitchens which I believe they rent out to small businesses, cooking classes, etc.

There is a thread in here about that somewhere, but I can't find it right now.

Information most likely available on the HCCC website.

Edit: here's the site: http://culinaryconferencecenter.com/index.htm

Thanks guys. There's no way I'm using the G.C., but I appreciate the entertaining banter.

True. The bathrooms are cleaner than the kitchen - he wouldn't want to befoul his drill press.

Terry is a good guy, though he has his own way of doing things.

Anyone know of a kitchen rental opportunity?

I need a LICENSED kitchen - given the A-OK by board of health.

This could be an "official" business incubator or even a church, VFW, restaurant, school, etc. who wants to make a few extra bucks on their off hours. Not many hours per week, just need a stove, electricity, and running water. Great if they have a stand mixer, otherwise I can haul mine back & forth.

I have a relatively limited budget but can work with their schedule and would be willing to commit to a few hours per month on an ongoing basis.
