Again today! Maybe they read this board.

It's fun to watch -- only takes the officer about a minute to pull over someone new.

That intersection is dangerous as all hell.

You can see broken tail lights where someone recently got rear ended.

With all the family and dog traffic that go to Hamilton park you would think there would be some enforcement here.

I LOVE when people park up to the corner and people can't see you cross, yet the cops don't even ticket these cars!!

Enforcement? HA! Good one.

One of the reasons I went house shopping yesterday (outside of JC)

Good Luck, we are trying to get speed bumps added and a crosswalk on Garfiled ave, the city says its a state issue there is nothing they can do... but when the cop got hit on Commnupaw ave, a crosswalk was added within hours.

I agree that something needs to be done. Too many people are blowing the sign to save a but of time. I live nearby and there are a ton of kids walking that intersection. Hate to have my kid involved in an accident there.

I vote for more police presence followed by a speed bump.

The intersection of 10th and Jersey also needs to be addressed. There needs to be a stop sign on Jersey. It's common to see cars doing 40mph+ down Jersey. There are constant near misses with cars traveling east/west on 10th. It's only a matter of time before a car barrels into people sitting outside of Hamilton Inn.

Bring this up at the local block association
Mention this at the police captain's meeting
speak to the Ward E council person
bring this to the attention of all 3 at-large council persons
have records for each of the responses

I just saw a near miss at 8th & Erie - one of those junk scavenger trucks blew the stop sign on Erie and a US mail carrier van nearly T-boned him. Horns were blared and obscenities were shouted.

Most of the drivers going up Erie do not come to a full stop at 8th. Most do a roll-through, and at night it's not uncommon for drivers to blow the stop sign entirely. As a pedestrian, I NEVER assume someone on Erie is going to stop until they actually do.

Some sort of traffic calming measures are needed there. Options include:

-A traffic light

-Blinking red light like is present at 10th & Erie

-STOP Ahead written in large reflective letters on the road between 7th & 8th

-Speed bumps / rumble strips

-Better stop sign visibility

-Targeted police enforcement of that stop sign
