Reminds me of something that happened a couple decades back:

Some dumb-ass kid put on head phones and decided to walk down the middle of the railroad tracks. These tracks were a high speed section where trains can hit well over 100 mph. He never heard the train coming and there was no hope in hell that the train could even slow down, let alone stop.

His torso embedded into the front of the locomotive. His arms, legs, and head popped off from the force of impact.

His head was never found.

Great news - With so many knuckle-heads with headphones on, talking on their cell phones or texting, these types of accidents never get reported.

If there is any damage to the Light Rail, this knuckle-head should be forced to pay for it and police should charge him for jay-walking or some sort of fine for being a hazard.

Man wearing headphones struck by Light Rail in Jersey City

Published: Saturday, January 07, 2012, 2:12 PM Updated: Saturday, January 07, 2012, 2:13 PM
By The Jersey Journal

A man who was wearing headphones and did not see the Light Rail coming walked into the side of a moving train Friday night in Downtown Jersey City.

The accident occurred at 8:15 p.m., at the intersection of Essex and Van Vorst Streets in Jersey City, according to John Durso Jr., spokesman for New Jersey Transit.

The person was alert and was treated by EMS on the scene for facial cuts, he said, and then taken to Jersey City Medical Center for evaluation.

No injuries were sustained by customers aboard the train. New Jersey Transit Police investigated the incident.
