City Vino has an awesome Portobella Quesadilla! It's not a Panini or sandwich, but thought it deserved a mention! =)

Hey Grove!

Please don't blame JCinsomniac. We're all looking for good food and perhaps Legal Beans was having an off night.

THAT SAID-- I will DEFINITELY try 2nd Street! I'm embarrassed to say that I've lived year for 20 years and I've never gone there.

I will keep searching for the portobello sandwich and I will keep you posted!

Thanks jc_insomniac

So $21.40 later...we got one of these smoked portobello sandwiches and one smoked chicken sandwich -- both were very tiny and on stale rolls -- there were also no sides of coleslaw as promised -- no pickles either!

Oh yeah, we also got a cold side of Mac and Cheese for an extra $4 plus tax!

Oh Boy!!!

BTW: 2nd Street Deli has a Portobello Sandwich (each one three or four times larger than these little things ) with whatever you want on them (homemade mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers or even lettuce & swiss -- etc..) all for only $6!!!

Years ago I used to get the best portobella mushroom panini sandwich from La Primavera. It was made with foccachia bread, fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers. It was pure heaven.

I really miss it. Can anyone recommend a good place to find such a sammich??
