It's the Lafayette section.

Sorry to brake it to you but that is Downtown not Lafayette. The Lafayette neighborhood is south of Grand ave and has a 07304 zip code, Booker T has 07302 as it's zip code.

Opps! I think GP left out a very important line in the subject?it should read...

Downtown: Shots fired at housing Jersey City complex lead to 1 arrest

Come on let?s be fair when crime happens in the Bergen-Lafayette, Heights, Greenville, Journal Square, or Marion sections it always appears in the subject line.

Thank you

View Larger Map Shots fired at housing Jersey City complex lead to 1 arrest Saturday, January 30, 2010 A Jersey City man found with a handgun and 13 vials of suspected cocaine was arrested Thursday by police officers responding to shots being fired at the Booker T Washington housing complex Downtown, officials. At 9:10 p.m. officers responding the gunshot fired a few minutes earlier arrested Jesse J. Hemingway, 33, of Fremont Avenue, at Colden and Prior streets, reports said. He was charged weapons offenses including possession of a firearm by a felon, and drug offenses including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, officials said. Officers stopped Hemingway and another man and ordered them show their hands but Hemingway initially refused, reports said, adding that police then patted him down and found a loaded .40 caliber handgun in his waistband, reports said. He was placed under arrest and a search at the police station turned up the vials of suspected cocaine, reports said. Hemingway was in prison from Dec. 10, 2004 to Oct. 30, 2007 and Nov. 9, 2007 Dec. 27, 2007 on two convictions for aggravated assault committed in Essex County, according to state corrections records. He has gone by aliases including Jay Hemingway, Jessie Hemingway, Jessie Hemmingway and James Howard, corrections records say. The handgun had been reported stolen in North Carolina, reports said. The man who was with Hemingway was not charged. MICHAELANGELO CONTE
