Metal the scrappers will take it if goes out early - but as for the laundry basket, if it looks like a recycling bin you might keep getting it back - best to put a sign on it that says "Free /Trash Men Please Take" -- oh, I meant "Sanitation Specialists."

How about a plastic laundry basket? Will they take that without a problem? About 2' x 2'.

Just put it out early, the metal guys will get it, the regular collections will never see it.

I called last week to see if they'd take a couch. Web site said to call in advance but they said they'll just take up to 4 bulk pieces without prior notice. Table shouldn't be a problem.

i'd leave it out there. im sure someone will take it... if not the garbage collection, then someone who happens to be walking by and is interested by it. im assuming it's in usable condition? you could also try posting it on craigslist for free... or even just leave it outside, and post it on craigslist, and someone who is interested might just come by and pick it up

In general they will take up to 4 bulk items at a time. A 42" diameter table shouldn't present a problem, but you can always call the JCIA to check.

I have had a large couch taken away without issue in the past.

I have an old metal outdoor table to get rid of (left behind by the previous tenants in my apartment). It's approximately 3 1/2' or so in diameter. Will garabge collection take this? Or will I have to get rid of it some other way? Other than dumping it on the side of Rt 1/9 (just kidding, of course) what are the options?
