Yes. I noticed that too.

And the other day it sounded as though a man who was stabbed in the face was then repeatedly treated at the JC Medical Center.

Which I can believe.

Glad the cop took his gun to the toilet with him....

Good to see Healy and Comey have crime under control. Thank God Healy got elected again...4 more years of Healy and Comey telling us how well they are tackling the crime issue. Is it 2013 yet so we can vote Fulop in.

This bike was on my street sat morning around 11:30am
I walked out of my door and my neighbor was talking to the police. Glad he wasn't reporting a break in.

That bike will turn up, no doubt about it. It's probably a Raleigh F-500, a bike made specifically for cops. Dumb move if the person who stole it tries to get it serviced or get parts for it at a bike store.

But I thought (as Chief Comey said) the crime problem was simply one of perception?

How's about "practice what you preach" JCPD!! Lock it UP! Maybe we can send some unsympathetic citizens over to take a report and blame the victim.

Thief takes cop's unlocked bike from City Hall

Monday, May 18, 2009

A nervy thief swiped a Jersey City police officer's bicycle from in front of City Hall while the cop took a 15-minute bathroom break Saturday night, reports said.

When the police officer returned at 9 p.m., the black Raleigh bike had vanished along with the officer's black helmet that was resting on the handlebars, and a saddle bag that contained a summons book and other materials, reports said.

The bike had a number of identifying marks including a "76" etched on the cross bar and "Fry Daddy 1" on the handle bars, reports said.
