'Hey, mister' gets 3 held as hookers
Friday, August 10, 2007 Three women were charged with prostitution Wednesday after a Jersey City bicycle cop noticed them flagging down cars, police said. Police said a pedaling patrolman spotted five women on the corner of Winfield and Ocean avenues Wednesday afternoon, and recognized them from past prostitution arrests. The cop got off his bike and watched for five minutes as they tried to get the attention of passing drivers, police said. Two women walked away when the cop approached, but Trudy Trombetto, of Avenue F in Bayonne, and Jersey City residents Rose Ellea Doria, of Garfield Avenue, and Diane Masters, of Cator Avenue, stayed and talked to the officer, police said. Masters told the cop that she was "waiting for a ride" from a friend, according to police, but could not name the friend. All three were arrested for loitering to commit prostitution, police said. N.
