If it is solid wood and unpainted, you can take it to the wood chip place in Caven Point where they grind up old pallets etc into mulch. Dont know the name of the place but its where Pacific St dead ends on the south end of town

It's about a pickup-truck full of wood. Most of it's in pretty bad condition, with old rusty nails all up in it.

Thanks I'll see if they would take this stuff. If not, I'll snip off the nails and break it into pieces for the trash.

Depending on what a ton is... depends on what you should do. If it is a houses worth, you might want to rent a truck and bring it to a dump. If its just a bunch and not to much, throw out a few pieces every garbage night until it is gone.

I know plenty of artists who would probably be happy to repurpose it. Maybe contact Jersey City art school?

What kind of wood exactly? Lumber, or finish wood?

If you cut it up so it fits in a trash can, the trash guys will pick it up (just don't make it too heavy). You can get rid of it a little at a time.

I went ahead and paid $35 a month for a dumpster, which is picked up monthly. With 4 buildings, there always seems to be some construction debris generated.

I've got a ton of wood sitting around in the backyard and I need to dispose of it. I would burn it, but there's a ton of paint on it and there's a decent chance it's got some lead paint on it. Can I bring it to a dump, or have the JCIA pick it up?
