Oh no, re: techno music at a restaurant!! Why, oh why! Amelia's Bistro did this the last time I ate there. Are restaurants TRYING to be cheesy? Or trying to be clubs? I just don't understand.

No music at all is so much better than bad music.

First visit last night. Solo.

Mac Daddy Burger: Delicious blend. Perfectly cooked. Just the right size. Bun was just right. The bacon was tasty and crisp but not overdone. I don't think I'm a fan of the fried mac and cheese after having tried it, but there was nothing wrong with it. I'm sure some most folks will love it.

Disco fries: Fries were delicious and tasted like they were freshly cut. Cheese was mellow and not overpowering. Just the right amount of melty goodness. The "gravy" was a misfire. Not thickened adequately. It was more like an au jus. Think cheese fries swimming in a brown broth rather than slathered in velvety gravy. This is easy to correct if they choose to.

Service: Friendly and attentive (Jonathan was my server).

Beers: More than enough variety to suit my taste. I had a 21st Amt. Brew Free or Die. Stood up the burger and fries.

Ambiance: Nice enough decor but the music was a big fail. It was some god awful lame techno/pop for the 45 straight minutes I was there. Weird choice for what otherwise seems like a hip burger/beer joint. I wanted to bolt as soon as the food was done on a account of this. I will hit this place up regularly so long they play music that doesn't make me want to stab myself in ear.

Went yesterday.

This place is such a great addition. I really hope they do well.

They will be serving spiked shakes, which imo is one of the greatest dessert inventions ever.

Cooking a burger well done should be easy -- keep the burger on 2x as long as any of the others. When several attempts are made and all fail, there's a major issue with the back of the house.

To their defense, the burger was comp'd, they've only been open a few days, and the server was understanding.

.... but it's still pretty hard to #OOPS# up a well done burger several times in a row.

Well-done is the hardest to perfect...believe it or not. Unless you like eating overcooked hockey pucks.

They repeatedly failed to overcook your beef? Awesome, it sounds like they?re doing something right! Kidding aside, I almost always have the opposite experience in restaurants where medium-rare becomes medium-well.

Burger wasn't mine. I'll eat anything.

And no, she's not a "cooked to death" well done, just a "so long as the middle is not the same color as the ketchup" well done.

This place is awesome and I suggest everyone give it a try. The inside has been renovated and is really nice. Cool stuff on the walls and two flatscreens above a nice full service bar. Lots of great craft beer to choose from on draft and in can (!!!). The menu has a great selection of burgers plus lots more. Had the "Mac Daddy" burger and was not disappointed in the slightest. Also had my friend's friend pickles...mmm.... Also, they will serve food past midnight on the weekends, which as many know is hard to find! Really think this place will succeed and do great.

That menu looks awesome. The nods to Bartholdi and exit 14B lead me to believe there are some JC natives behind this, will def be supporting.

Wow.. that menu looks awesome..
And reasonably priced too!

I live across the street. Kept looking at It's Greek to Me's menu and never could figure out their prices. No wonder nobody was ever in there.

Hope this place is an awesome success... maybe enough to expand into HFC next door??

Do they offer takeout?

The inside is a complete renovation and has a nice vibe. A bunch of Jersey City pictures are sprinkled about and large "201" bar mirror hangs near the entrance. Here is the current menu up on the site, that Danny said I could post.

The Hudson does not flow in two directions. It flows in one direction. Part of it is tidal. "Tide" and "Flow" are very different.

Yeah? I've walked by and peeked into the windows and it looks like a completely different place to me. I thought it looked pretty good.

I had the Lamb burger with blue cheese and onions tonight. It was damn good. Also had a beer at the bar while waiting for my food to go. Danny, the owner, is a cool guy and has plans in the very near future for pitchers of beer and micro brews.

Guy next to me had a "Mac Daddy" burger which is a burger with fried mac n cheese and bacon. Big thumbs up.

I love the idea of calling Hudson the Left Bank. Unfortunately, we are the Right Bank. The banks are named from the perspective of someone looking down river.

I walked by on Friday night around 10pm and the place was packed. Some sort of pre-opening party perhaps?

That space has so much potential. Excellent corner location at a busy intersection. Greek to Me blew it with totally out of whack prices and lackadaisical service that ensured they were always empty.

I'm looking forward to trying Left Bank and hope they have success here. Always nice to see new restaurants in the neighborhood.

I walked by this past weekend and a woman working in the space told me it will open in two weeks. Naturally I assumed it would actually happen in 3-4 weeks. She also told me the name comes from Jersey City being on the left bank of the Hudson River, which we aren't, in the traditional sense of the term. Anyway, I hope the burgers are good.

Not sure if this has been posted about, but it looks like they're opening soon in the old It's Greek To Me space. Between this and P&6's new place it's a good time to be a JC burger lover!
