It could also mean that some one from that office is moving for the job that Mr Velazquez was holding and she has moved to fill one spot in the chain, simple !!!

Howmany 2009 Seton Hall graduates got this opportunity?
what is her GPA?
Howmany people applied? Who else was considered ?
Howlong this position is open ?
What is the process to fill this position?

A conspiracy theorist can close eyes and say, IT IS PART OF THE DEAL... but do we have a proof... NOPE... TIME will bring the TRUTH !!!

As of now, better assume, SHE IS VERY QUALIFIED !!!

Not only that, but with all the corruption that goes on surrounding Healy, why would his "great candidate" daughter even want to work for Jersey City? You'd think she would have some intelligence and distance herself from her father.

She is not working for Jersey City. She is working for the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

If she really were a great candidate (and our mayor weren't such a pariah) another city/county with whom the mayor had close ties would give her a job and none of this would be on the radar screen. But no. The mayor:

1) Is toxic and no one would want to be seen helping him and
2) Has no regard for the people, process or the budget whatsoever and in the end, he's going to line his pockets (and the pockets of his friends and family) in whatever way he can, no matter how petty.

Hey Jeremiah T: Will you adopt me?

Another "best qualified candidate".

Please tell me this isn't the same job the new council guy (who was picked by Healy) resigned from.

Catherine Healy Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy?s daughter, was sworn in as Assistant Prosecutor in the Hudson County Prosecutor?s Office on Sept. 20, according to Prosecutor Edward DeFazio.

Healy graduated from Seton Hall University in 2009 and clerked for Hudson County Superior Court Judge Kevin Callahan from August 2009 to August 2010.

?Catherine came very highly recommended,? DeFazio said. (Hmmmm NO DUH!!) He added that she will work in the Appellate Court.

?I love my daughter very much and I am proud of her,? said Mayor Healy. ?She worked hard to get through law school and to pass the bar, and she clerked for a year for Judge Kevin Callahan, who has the busiest criminal case calendar in the State of New Jersey. I am confident that she will continue her hard work on behalf of the people of Hudson County in the Prosecutor?s Office under the leadership of Ed DeFazio.?
