I know full well what Surimi is. That's my point. It's NOT crabmeat. Putting those two words together does not make Surimi crabmeat.

Surimi crabmeat is the fake crabmeat you see in Japanese restaurants. It's made from a variety of white fish and is processed to have the approximate taste of crabmeat.

it would definitely instantly become the best slice option in downtown JC, assuming that's where it's opening. anyone know any details about location?

That's what they said about Two Boots!

People love to hate on Two Boots but, every time I walk past their location, it seems to be doing fairly well with lots of customers in there.

I love two boots pizza. Granted I almost always eat it when buzzed. It's become a running joke among my wife and friends that whenever we're out drinking downtown, I need to end my night with a slice from two boots.

There is no such thing as Surimi crab meat. Either it's crab meat or it's not.

the artichoke pizza in union square is vastly overrated. give me a Ginos or Pizzamasters slice over them any day.

Developer Signs Multi-Unit Franchise Deal to Expand Artichoke Basille’s Pizza to New Jersey

The Famed New York Pizza Concept To Open New Franchised Locations In Five NJ Cities

New York, NY (RestaurantNews.com) Artichoke Basille’s Pizza, the rapidly-expanding New York pizza concept known for creative, artisanal pizza that has attracted legions of fans from celebrities to native New Yorkers alike, has signed a five-unit franchise deal with local developer and passionate customers, Premal and Leela Shanghvi, to bring Artichoke Basille’s Pizza to New Jersey. The New Jersey stores will be located in Hoboken, Jersey City, New Brunswick, Princeton and Newark.

Unlike “conveyor belt” fast-casual pizza concepts, Artichoke Basille’s Pizza specializes in offering bold, unique flavors and toppings on massive slices and whole pies, including their namesake Artichoke Pie with cream sauce, artichoke hearts, spinach, mozzarella, and pecorino romano, and originals like their Crab Pie, made with crab sauce, fresh mozzarella, and panko-breaded Surimi crab meat. In addition to offering more traditionally-topped pizzas, the menu also boasts a variety of non-pizza Italian dishes, such as their meatball roll, calzone, and salads.
