The next mayor is always the council president until an election.

From what I'm gathering, Fulop dropped out of the Governor's race to let Phil Murphy run as the democratic candidate for November so that Fulop would not have any serious democratic challengers for his upcoming senate run. So since Fulop will be campaining most of next year, who will run Jersey City? And who will be appointed mayor if Fulop wins the senate seat?

Fulop is a fresh face? Booker is a fresh face?

Fulop has never represented us in Washington so yes he is a fresh face. Booker had never represented us in Washington before he won so yes he was also a fresh face.

Sorry.... I tend to view a "fresh face" as someone who brings new ideas to the table. All we get from these two are parroted tired old democrat talking points and support for failed policies.

As much as I dislike Senator Menendez for some of his positions and believe he is a leech for "free stuff", including DR hookers, I did like his position on Cuba. Seniority pays off in the Senate... and "fresh-face" Booker has a long way to go to achieve that status.

Is Senate run in Fulop's future?

JERSEY CITY -- Sen. Steven M. Fulop?

Fulop is still 49 days away from asking Jersey City voters for a second term as their mayor, but his allies across the city -- and his foes statewide -- are already planning for him to jump into a potential race to succeed Sen. Bob Menendez next year.

The Democratic mayor, who told The Jersey Journal he has "zero" interest in replacing Menendez,
