Re: Police Dept. adds to the force new faces.

Fulop diversified the police department so he can pay minority officers lower wages, give them less vacation and time off, no awards for heroic actions, and made them pay more for health benefits. Fulop is such a great Mayor. Maybe more police departments can learn how to deprive minorities the working conditions enjoyed by the privileged white officers.

Give poor Gerry a break just like Fulop did. Gerry was a victim
of circumstance. The opportunity for him to steal was there and
he seized the opportunity just like most Hudson County politicians
do. Fulop had the decency to recognize that Gerry paid for his
mistakes and gave him a well paying city job.

I am seriously considering finally moving out of Jersey City after living here for over 30 years.
The political candidates are truly terrifying. I was a strong Fulop supporter but he quickly became
just another corrupt politician. He really fooled me. I just hope a better candidate runs for Mayor.

This story held my interest up to where they said that reached out
to NAN. Al Sharpton has been cut off after the last administration
got replaced. I guess old Al needs some attention.

What excuse is Fulop going to use for this act of violence? He blamed the last murder on bail reform. Maybe his propaganda minister Jen Morill will come up with something better.

That is hallow ground and should not be treated as a famers
market.

The Battle of Paulus Hook was fought on August 19, 1779 between Continental Army and British forces in the American Revolutionary War. The Patriots were led by Major Light Horse Harry Lee, and launched a nighttime raid on the British-controlled fort in what is today downtown Jersey City. They surprised the British, taking 158 prisoners, and withdrew with the approach of daylight. Despite retaining the fort and its cannons, the British lost much of their control over New Jersey. Lee was rewarded by the Second Continental Congress with a gold medal, the only non-general to receive such an award during the war.

That battle took place on the grounds of that park.

I understand the politics aspect of the argument and agree
with the protestors on that count. I just don't understand how
the vocal protestors are screaming racism when Dabney filed
for retirement and will receive a nice (deserved) pension. Why
would they deny the man his retirement?

I watched the video of the JCIA meeting and it made my head hurt. Dabney requested to retire
with a nice pension. He probably sees the writing on the wall that the agency will be dissolved so
he decides to retire. The community and former politicians come to stop the committee from
voting in favor of his choice to retire and blame his choice to retire on racism. The JCIA
was never diverse and reflecting of the community it serves while Dabney was in charge.
Nobody cried racism. Now that a white man has been named interim head of the agency the community comes
out and says it is based on racism. I just don't get it.

What doe race have to do with anything. This is just two
humans interacting in a civilized manner. One just happens
to be wearing a police costume and the other is not white.
Why does everything whether positive or negative have to
be labeled by race. I'm sure this scene plays out on a
daily basis in this world but no one takes notice.

How about this scenario. A person knowingly walks into a
a police department knowing that they have no
warrants. They tell the cop that they believe that they
are a wanted person. While the cops tries to check if this
person is wanted they attempt to walk out of the police
department and the cop uses force to stop them. Pay day.
The cop will be charged with a civil rights violation and the
city will be sued. You can't have it both ways.

This D-bag as you put it may have needed what the four year old
had just to survive. Who are you to judge? Maybe he was
down on his luck and this child waved what he wanted/needed in
his face so he took it. Stop being so judgmental.
