I think it's only open on Saturdays?

Great place to take little fisherfolk. My son would happily bring up sunnies for hours. Sadly, the catch and release policy for the bass is not observed by some.

There's a lot of poison ivy this time of year. The best views are of some of the most desolate sections of Summit Ave and Central Ave. It's the best thing in the neighborhood though.

It's a wonderful place to hike, fish, kayak, and explore the ecology of various plant life. There is nothing else like it in J.C. and it is right in our own back yard here in the Heights. The panoramic view on the walking path is equal to the Highline of Manhattan. The hiking paths are secluded enough that you will feel you're in a remote part of Jersey. You could either hike down to the water on the east side of the park or walk in on the ground level at the south entrance on the Jefferson St. side where the fishing area is. The entrance to the hiking area is open on Saturdays from 8 am till 4pm. The fishing entrance is open daily except Sundays.

I assume you mean the ex-reservoir on Summit.

I've been to it, but not on the grounds. It's, uh... a big pond. ;)

Apparently there are some events there, you can check out their Facebook page.

Has anyone toured the facility? Is it worth a visit? I 'd like to hear some commentary from anyone who's been there.
