So true and I always pass first time -- just check all your lights -- but if you have an older car and fail for smoke -- just try adding a Lucas oil - even Home Depot even sells it.

I had my car inspected at the state inspection station I was in and out in 10 minutes and it was free.

Exactly what 12345 said: the state inspection facility is very convenient, and fast. I am not even sure why anyone would bother paying for an inspection given the relative use of the state facility in Secaucus that also happens to be FREE.

The State inspecton facilities are fast and free. A few years ago the rules changed - now they only check pollution and brakes. You can drive in with a big crack in your windshield and pass inspection.
