For sure, I wasn't scoffing per se at the idea of repairing a shade, as was clear from my post. Just noting with amusement the requests often made for contractors with some type of idiosyncratic background specialty tied to the product itself.

Guys, I assume this was a joke. Typical play on the weird questions sometimes posted looking for repair "specialists" for all kinds of (usually) DIY crap. Seriously, a "cellular shade specialist?"

i'd be curious how much someone charges for this. unless there's something super custom involved, i'd be surprised if repairing didn't cost more than just buying a new one.
