I just plugged my friend's house concert for Sunday afternoon in another thread, but there are actually 3 of us in town who host living room concerts. Some shows are on Friday nights and some on the weekend. The demographic isn't nec young professionals-- we get folks anywhere from their 20s to their 60s-- but a handful of the local musicians do attend and you can check out regional and national artists. I was going to suggest ZogSports, but I see Robin beat me to it.
Also, this may sound like a joke but, if you are single and looking to meet others, perhaps download and use Tinder. I have a lot of single friends (male and female) who actually have positive things to say about it, with several who have gone on to serious relationships. There are many meet up groups in the area, particularly for things like running and other more passive endeavors (like knitting) so definitely check out their website. A couple of suggestions - not sure of exact season schedules, but a soccer league is run out of 180 9th St, and a pool league mostly out of PD Billiards on Montgomery, Tues nights.

Hi,
I am new to Jersey City / NYC. I love the vibe here, however I am having difficulty finding meetups where I can meet others with shared interests. I was wondering if anyone knew of any groups for young professionals to meet after work. I am interested in: art, music, sports, politics, movies, comics etc. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Best, Mike
