Thanks, gotta try that. I've gotten hooked on the kimchi in the deli packs from 555, but didn't like the one in the jars. Apparently kimchi varies as much as pickle recipes, and I'm particular about my pickles too.

Try P&K on Newark, behind Morlee's. The folks running it are super friendly, and the produce tends to be better (fresher) than other places. Just be sure to double-check the papayas if you're getting one...

Thanks. And which store would typically have the best produce if a market isn't going on that day? I am often disappointed with the quality of the big grocery stores in downtown JC.

Also check out Key Food. Farmers' Markets can only sell local produce, so no ginger, citris, etc. Also, I haven't seen things like bok choy and its relatives, although they do grow locally at the FMs.

For DT go to Van Vorst Park on Saturdays. The table in front of the gazebo run by Ed the farmer is the best. Everything he sells is top notch he carries an array of choices. If it's not in season he won't have it there. And you'll get an education in agriculture.

All of our Farmers' Markets; local, fresh, and reasonably priced.
