FYI, I always used Citymove.com and have always had good results. It lets you take "bids" from moving companies. As long as you pick someone well reviewed you shouldn't have an issue.

I moved from the UES to Harsimus Cove in April. I used Curtis Silver at First Class Movers. They were fantastic.

I've always used FlatRate. They're usually priced a bit higher than other movers, but they do a kickass job and they never play the bullshit bait-and-switch game that some other moving companies love to do. They do their estimate, give you a price, and that's what they actually charge.
Brick Haus is probably the most convenient to you, but Base is clearly the "best" gym in the area - it's a bigger, more spacious, cheaper, independently owned version of Equinox (minus the Kiehl's products). Try out both and see if the extra couple blocks walk is worth the difference.

Catlow is very good
Brickhaus Fitness @ Newark and Barrow above Barcade is where I go. Try to avoid Torico on the way home. One of Harsimus Cove's special treats is the weekly booksale at Grace Van Vorst Community Center. Sundays from 12:30. Closed right now for building renovation. Entrance on Erie between Second and Third

We used Morrissey's when we moved a few years ago, and they were great -- super fast and reasonably priced.

We moved here from Astoria a couple of years ago and used Olga movers from the city. We were pretty happy with them. My fianc? used them before for a move from Brooklyn to Astoria also, and we have a friend that has used them more than once. Haven't had any issues with them.

Hi all,
My partner & I are moving into town next weekend (from Chelsea) and we were wondering if anyone could recommend a local moving company that could assist with our move. Also, we were wondering if anyone has any recommendations for gyms/fitness centers near Harsimus Cove? Thanks!
