Me too. Very curious what he'll say.
And I love your reflective tape solution!

Gender pricing is only outlawed in California, New York City and Florida's Miami-Dade County. Everywhere else, it's perfectly legal. It's all about marketing and advertising. Women are being suckered when they shop. If they looked, they'd see that the pink razors are EXACTLY the same as the blue ones (from the same manufacturer). Ditto on deodorants, most lotions, etc. Dry Cleaning takes a bit more hand work to iron the curves.
I hope this guy replies about the $85 vs. $160 pricing on those silly vests...

I just emailed him asking why there's a price differential. Will report back if I get a response.

Nonsense! If you look at any cycling apparel store online you will find that the equivalent jerseys, pants, jackets for men and women are the same, or within 20%.
Yes, women do pay more for some items (particularly stuff like personal care items) but when it comes to clothing in which direct counterparts exist (such as in the case of running gear like leggings, shirts, shorts, etc) you will find that the prices are very close. To charge 160 vs 85 is just crazy.

If you are going to cover Hoboken would-be designers. why not cover NYC's would-be designers. There is a million stories in the naked city (soon to be clothed)...

It's really more about cut. Men's clothing is boxier than women's. More work and time goes into making it.

Sorry let me be clear, its not just the fabric. It also has to with the "Pink Tax" which retailers have been adding since the mid 90's. Even your local dry cleaners does it. When I take a shirt to the dry cleaner its $2.50 but If I took a similar shirt but said it was a ladies shirt it would be about $3.50 or more to dry clean. On average women pay $1,351 a year more for the same products as men. including razors, dry cleaning and hand lotions and so on and so on.

You beat me to it with this comment! These prices are crazy!! I wear a reflective vest (and neon helmet and reflective gloves) when I bike or ride one of my mopeds. Screaming Orange and Green with reflective tape all over it. Fashion statement? Nah, just trying to not get run over by some idiot car driver. Look like Tron? Um, no. $15 on eBay for a really high-visibility mesh vest with reflective tape.

You need to use twice the amount of fabric to cover boobs? The women's vest is almost twice as expensive than the men's. Also, most men are bigger than most women, so doesn't that kind of even out the amount of fabric used?

Women's clothing are always more expensive. They use more fabric when making women's top garments. Most men don't have breast. If the garments are made in the USA then its a good deal, if not then not so much. Women with small breast can always buy the men's version just size it down..

Cool gear, but a little pricey, especially if you are a woman.
According to the website listings, the women's version of the jackets and vests are $85 and $75 more expensive each. ???
